Not for me. This is all about men and their obsessions which they pursue at all costs and at all alienation from family, friends and society. I have enough of that in my personal life. I don't need to read about it! I think if this would have been just about the journey through the Amazon, I'd have loved it. But there is too much background here for me about Victorian England and explorer societies.

I'm only three chapters in and I've already teared up. Feeling like this is going to be an emotional conclusion to the trilogy.

The Liveship storyline is intersecting with Fitz's storyline. So curious to see how these disparate stories will intertwine. And the Fool... OMG! Stunned to think that the Liveship Trilogy was part of such an elaborate plot. I really wouldn't have guessed. Well done, Hobb.

None of the characters are likable. The plot moves so slowly. I'm forcing myself to read it. Will it get better, and when?

Errr... does this get better? It's just mediocre with a lot of "been there, done that" nods to other, greater, more skillfully written books.

I'm seriously struggling through this book. It is just so slow, uninteresting, and humorless that I'm having a hard time liking anything about it. I'm really puzzled as to why the reviews are so high (3.99 Goodreads rating from tens of thousands of readers), and debating whether it's worth continuing. Sometimes I just don't get what everyone else is raving about, and this just might be one of those occasions.

The Great Gatsby is a necessary re-read following Norwegian Wood

This is a very tough read. Julia is 16 and going through things that are hard enough to read, let alone to experience and survive. This is tough to get through. Brutal.

Scratching my head over this one. I don't like the writing. The dialogue is not snappy. Olive is annoyingly insecure and her thoughts are irritating and full of panic. It's so dry and wordy. Where's the comedy in this rom com? Why does this book have over 550,000 ratings? If it wasn't for all the good reviews, I'd call it quits now.

Struggling to get into this one

Only 38 pages in, but already laughed out loud twice. This is just what I need to lighten the mood starting week 39!

This woman seems to make some astonishingly bad (stupid) choices. Having been a solo traveler myself, crossing borders between countries like Malaysia and Thailand at the age of 22, I still never would have put myself in the type of danger in which Amanda seems to deliberately and stubbornly place herself time and time again. Taking a chicken bus to border cross Pakistan & Bangladesh to save $0.50 is just ridiculous.

Thoroughly enjoying this reread

I'm disappointed so far by how slowly this one is going. I'm nearly halfway through the book and Fitz is still alone, traveling across the Six Duchies, with none of our beloved and familiar characters in sight.

Confession: I'm a little bit bored with "Confess" by Colleen Hoover. It's just not drawing me in, so I picked up this little gem from my childhood and it's WONDERFUL so far, just as lovely as I remember it. Very happy with this reread so far.

In an unreal twist worthy of Murakami, this book has pulled a disappearing act overnight and cannot be found anywhere in my apartment. This is a complete shame as I'm really enjoying it. I think the mind-inhabiting sheep might have had something to do with this.

Part 1 was good - not great, but good. I can't say that I ever connected to sulky, sullen Emmett Farmer as a protagonist. But Part 2 was so Netflix-YA-movie that I had to skim it. It was obvious from the beginning why these two were in a feud, it was obvious from the beginning that Emmett had been bound, these were not mysteries to be shockingly revealed but it took ages for Emmett to get there. Disappointing so far.

Hm. Where exactly is this going? I'm always skeptical when the author introduces such a large cast of characters. There are a lot of allusions to the world being on the brink of change, but nearly 300 pages in, this is all exposition that's moving at a relatively slow pace. With this many characters, how can it do anything but inch slowly forward?

Please, Elena, PLEASE kick Nino to the curb once and for all. I have actively detested him for 4 books now. Be gone!

I never read Anne of Green Gables as a child. The audio is wonderful and every time Anne begins speaking I just get this smile on my face.

I am finding this to be terribly boring. Being inside a 15-year-old girl's head is just not interesting.
