something about reading this and listening to david byrne at the same time is getting me. i know some people say this is just generic feel-good, BUT up to this point (for me) it feels very authentic to the neurodivergent experience especially with regards to memory and regret. also it probably helps that i have never actively considered suicide so i do not find that triggering at all. not diminishing those who do!

i checked and there are no Vons in Anchorage, Alaska...

just learned that the new york public library has a "trending now" shelf at all of its branches with trending books that are non-requestable so you can just stop in and get them if they're not checked out despite the 200+ people deep hold list. that said, you can't renew them so you kind of have to read them immediately which is why i paused my other book atm to get to this.

based on the cover and description, i am hoping i love this. HOWEVER, it is written by someone who seemingly has never lived in New York so I ALREADY know that there are going to be things that bug me if the city plays too much of a character in the book (so far, Annie referring to the park she lives by as only "Washington Square" like naur no one does that (I would accept the jokey NYU WaSquaPa more than that lol)
