This book is fantastic! It’s not a summer read. Nor is it a feel good book but wow what a great storyteller Barbara Kingslover is. The writing, the characters development, the plot, the details, the research, it’s all incredible! What are privilege to read a book like this!

The writing is excellent. The story is interesting.
It’s a little slow for me but I am going to stick with it. We’ll see!

I like it a lot. Perfect summer read. I did have to Google the character list because I was getting confused. It helped a lot!

So far, an interesting and easy read for this time of year. I put my other books on hold. They are too intense for summertime! I’m a big fan of this book short chapters!! 😊🤞

I am a big fan of this book. I find it very interesting The plot and the character development are both good. The writing is good. It puts my current life circumstance into perspective. How those people survived riding in a wagon train and traveling west is beyond my comprehension. But they did it! I’m gonna snuggle into my king-size bed with my multiple pillows and my comforter for a good night sleep. 🤞

So far I’m interested and intrigued.🤞

I am not sure what to make of this book. I’m reading it. I’m turning the pages. It’s kind of hum drum every day life. I’m going to finish it because I’m waiting to find out what’s gonna happen. I’ve read a couple books like this before and it’s supposed to be this deep uncovering of the human condition. I hope it’s not boring! It feels like it’s going to be…🙃

Cute summer read. Cute doesn’t really intrigue me though. I’ll read it because it’s easy and it’s a little interesting but I can’t imagine it would get more than a three stars. We’ll see!🤷🏻‍♀️

I would encourage that you don’t let the religious overtones get in your way. The truth is no one knows what happens when you die but there are consequences to how you choose to live. ❤️

I have read two other 4 star books by this local author. I love the concept of this book and it’s very easy to get into. This seems to be a book about how you choose to do “your time” here on earth. The setting is Walpole State prison, where I worked in the early 80’s. I learned very important lessons during that experience, one that I will never forget. For the grace of God there go I.

This book was gifted to me due to my interest in Vincent van Gogh. It’s a love story about his brother, his dedication and devotion to him and the preservation of van Gogh’s art. The book is well written and very easy to get into!
