Okay. I wanted to enjoy this but seriously. Not only is a romance where the guy is treated like a barely-there annoying object for the patronising superior small minded female majn just ugh, can we not? But I’ve read more than enough specialist literature to pick a constructed ideological indoctrination/ re-education narrative when I see it. Its blatant, sinister, and cynical. Pity. Some parts are well written.

Recommended reading for all training in psychoanalysis, though I’d happily suggest some critiques on some of choices of what seem to be neglected things in some chapters. Well worth thinking about in your groups.

Seriously? People give this four stars? The only reason this still exists on my phone is because sometimes I just want something mindless for a few minutes when I can’t be bothered finding my next read, and I really just need to fall asleep. Skipping and skimming pages makes little difference. Bloke writing female character who really shouldn’t.
