This got. Weird. Really fast. Um.

MUCH better as a book than an audiobook. Part One was frankly breathless, and I loved that, while I couldn't even get halfway by listening. No matter what I'm gonna have to ding a star for how bad the audio experience is.

Honestly we were about halfway through, but the audiobook was just really bad. Starting over, with the text this time.

Giving the audiobook a try, it sort of helps with the stilted dialogue but it still doesn't feel right. This might be a case where the movie fixed the not very good book.

I don't necessarily want to keep DNF'ing books, but I'm dancing on the edge of this book slump, just Starting to rise out of it, and reading something that feels boring isn't exactly helpful right now.

My coworker has learned that I don't mind horror of any stripe, and he is Very Excited for me to read this so he can finally talk about it with someone.
