I'm 42 pages in and I already have regrets but trying to go through my physical books I have.

This is my audiobook series. It isn't even very good anymore nine books in but there is a comforting familiarity to it. The last half of the series has gotten a little too hooked on the series version of Moriarty who haunts the main characters. I preferred the more self-contained mysteries of the early books.

This is hailed as a "return to form" by many fans of the series and I am disappointed to say that the first 330 pages of the book is just as sloggy as the previous three or so books and that it remains riddled with Jordan's worst inclinations as a writer. I feel like Jordan is an able writer, maybe even great at times but instead of using his powers for good he uses them for a very tedious form of evil.

It’s been like 70% Sanderlanche so far which is both a good thing and a bad thing.
