Wait. Is this book bad?

Should I just skip the whole second half and read the last three chapters and be done with it?

It is hard to feel any empathy for this poor little rich guy, who tells you over and over that he would give up his $80 million in a heartbeat and name drops famous people just to tell you he's in the "famous club" with them. He's also a straight white man who thinks he's a good person just because he's a straight white man who says he's a good person. Terrific.

At this point I'm actively rooting for the women to realize they can do better.

Synopsis: Perry is bitter, mad at the world, drinks because he was an unaccompanied minor on a plane when he was 5 years old and has never gotten over it, and unforgivably unfunny. Oh, and wishes keanu reeves was dead. Really Matthew Perry? America's fucking sweetheart?

This book has a lot of 4 and 5 star reviews. It is very very very basic. I'm confused. Maybe it gets better?

For the love of god, introduce another character. How has 20% of this book elapsed with no dialog? It's like superman and elon musk had a very sad, depressed, boring, entitled, rich white baby. "I'm so lonely that I have to swim in pools of money with my pet dolphins, but, drats, even that can't cheer me up. I guess ill go sit in my garage and stare at my classic car collection." The first book was good, right?

Are we planning on having any dialog in this book? So far the narrator has said good morning to his computer, the computer said hi back, and...that's it. I can see why many reviews think this book was helped immensely by wil wheaton's narration.

Did this book literally just go from "Fat women deserve to be seen and take up space and if you don't like it that's a YOU problem" to "Fat women can totally exist in our society as long as they try to be fuckable, wear Thinkx, and shave their legs"???? What the literal F?

I hate this book. It is fully terrible. And I do not care. Why am I reading this? I need a support group for people who can't stop reading books they've started.

Also, THROUGH and THREW are not synonyms. Where TF were the editors on this one.
This is a solid 2 star book, but if April stays with her abusive dickhead husband I'm knocking off another star.

Why am I reading this?

I just, truly, do not care about these people. It is not a rom-com, it is just a boring romance book, except with no juicy stuff because our protagonists aren't together yet. I'm now at the point of the book where they are driving to boston to buy a pinball machine. Who. Cares.
