Paused a while ago at 73% when I realized I'd goofed and there's another book focused on Sullivan! This book is long and covers a lot of everyday things, so I got to a break in the story and just haven't picked it back up yet... Might wait til the next book comes out.

I skipped to the last story, Supplicant by Sierra Simone: 5++ stars! So much steam and just the right balance of angst and pacing--bonus of a short story is that you can't be left pining for too long!

When I saw that this book is 700 pages, I thought my Kindle display was messed up at first, but nope--ACOWAR must pack a punch.

(One of my most common complaints, even about authors I know and whose writing I like, is when ONE story arc is torn apart to become a trilogy, with cliffhangers in between. Maas does not disappoint when it comes to separate story arcs!)

I'm loving this magical world so far! I'm usually careful not to start a series if there aren't already a few books available, but I failed miserably since I'm reading this ARC of book one in a new series... But it's so interesting and gothic and pairs perfectly with the rain storms we're getting, so I'm just going to enjoy it!
