I wish audiobook players on phone apps could be programmed so that, if you accidentally press play in your pocket, if the volume on your phone in not on and no earbuds are plugged in or connected by Bluetooth, the audiobook just... wouldn't play. I have several times now somehow turned on an audiobook on in my pocket and only found it an hour later when it's already lost my place or even finished itself. 🙃

I'm two hours and four chapters into the audiobook and, don't get me wrong, the narrator is giving it his best possible effort, but even then I'm struggling to follow what's happening, and I'm forcing myself to pick it up. I don't think I'm going to finish it.

I put the audiobook on hold at my library back in December and it came available early. I am a few chapters in and not sure whether I'm going to finish or not. I only have 14 days to keep it, so if I don't get majorly more into it by the time I have to turn it back in, I'm probably dnfing

Oof, that got intense. I'm very invested, though! Looking forward to what's to come!

I'm not even done with this and I already recommend the audiobook version. Hearing Meredith tell her own story with her own voice is the best. :)

I like the wintery vibes, I like the writing style, just like I did with Echo North, but the rushing-to-stop-the-wild-magic-from-unravelling-the-world thing just gave me a stressful dream.😅 I may have to do some skimming or maybe adjust when I'm reading this and not read it before bedtime anymore, idk. Sadly, there's no audiobook to try changing to that.

Holy moly.😅 I knew this last book was supposed to be epic, but I wasn't expecting Lord of the Rings levels of epic! It's giving that part of Return of the King like: "Too few have come. We cannot defeat the armies of Mordor." "No. We cannot. But we will meet them in battle nonetheless."

Made it to the halfway point by New Years. 😅

I'm debating a DNF. Over 100 pages in and it's just not grabbing me. I'll give it one last chance tomorrow, but if I find myself not wanting to read again, I'll let it go.

Decided I couldn't wait until Christmas next year to finish the series. :) Also, I have a brand new Kindle, so might as well break it in with something good.

I have my Kindle connected to Goodreads so I can share quote highlights, but I don't like that the Kindle frequently will automatically mark my books as Read when I finish them. :/ Excuse me, I was going to rate and review that!

It appears that I've finished the actual novel at page 259! The rest of the page count seems to be a short story about Zane's past, which is fine and I'm going to read it, but I thought I'd just make a note that the novel itself is now done. (And noooo, I don't want it to end there! Now I'm tempted to go on and read the last book instead of waiting until Christmas next year!)
