this book has some interesting premises but i feel a bit like im trapped in a game level that i cant get out of rn. most of the book takes place in the same city with little scene variation and it puts me to sleep.

taishi commenting about feminism and sexism is so uncharactistic of the setting - it reeks of modern western culture. complaining about calling the assassins "mute men" - when in chinese it would be a non-issue and is a uniquely western idea. also, how is the group sexist when 1/3 of their members are women. and how is it that 'strong women are so rare' but they are everywhere...

books that switch povs over and over take me so long to get into...

i added this to my TBR list because its listed as a scifi/fantasy classic but i feel more like i took a wrong turn into booktok...=(
