I just don’t buy their love story 😭

So far, I’d say this is my least favorite from Ashley Poston. She’s my queen and I adore everything she does, but this is not the strongest of her magical realism romances so far. Feels too much like we’re trying to write annotatable quotes rather than immersing the reader in the story. The magic in this one is also a bit… off. Let’s see how it ends though! Still having a good time though 🩷💛🩵

The world building is a bit sloppy. For at least the first entire half, I thought this was a war torn California. Like rubble and rebuilding and some semblance of getting back to normalbut with lots of uncertainty, but that’s not the case? Seems pretty stabilized and normal with social media, delivery drivers, homes and restaurants.

Could have used a better editor to be honest

Talking about cooking the noodles and the sentence begins “it wanted boiling immediately”
Unless this is some creative structuring… idk lol this isn’t the first error I’ve found, it’s just the first one I’ve been like
