Interesting portrait of Philadelphia circa 1800.

I haven't been reading books much in the past few years. I read a lot of things in PDF format: car brochures, financial reports, computer documentation, but the last few books that I have read have been very good. Most involve travel, exploration, and history.

Good stories about fundamental inventions from America's past, well explained. Good conservative views about the value of a good work ethic, and the evils of unions.

When you start a chapter of this book, you think it is going to be boring. Within a page or two, however, you become riveted to the narration and you cannot stop! GE price fixing in the 1950s, or Piggly Wiggly stock market corners in the 1920s, it is a very good book. I am learning a lot.

Full of good tips, I am enjoying this book. It makes me want to go camping again! I like his ethic of working around camp, keeping things packed, organized, clean, and hygienic. His military ways work!

Light reading, fun stories about honey badgers and such. I am enjoying it.

I've read the first five chapters. The last couple have been an introduction to complex numbers, complex analysis, logarithms, & calculus. As I was a math major, so far I have understood everything, which is comforting since my math days were some time ago. I love Euler's identity where exp(i*pi) + 1 = 0. Beautiful!
