Sorkin’s book 1929 is certainly fascinating but his Too Big to Fail being more recent in subject gives one a unique insight into the mechanics of Wall Street bankers and investors

Given that this is written about an event only some 17 years, Sorkin’s highly detailed account of the run up to the failure of Lehman has much more relevance. Gripping details of the complex relationships amongst the Fed the Treasury and the various leaders on Wall Street

As mind bending as Hail Mary. Eager to read where this goes.

Interesting autobiography but you have to be patient in reading … there are some good life lessons buried in the telling

The deeper I get into this book the more I grasp that it is as much about a relationship between a human and an alien being as well as an incredible tale of overcoming technological barriers to combating a threat to planet earth

This is one of the most “out of the box” sci fi books I have read. The premise is mind bending. You may want to bail part way through but keep reading … it will capture your imagination

Incredibly detailed, to the point of losing us uninformed readers in the physics etc. However, if you persist you will learn much about the dangers and promise of nuclear power

The author devotes a good deal of the middle chapters to revealing the characters of the crews (there were 17 Lancasters involved in the raid), which i found only mildly interesting. Much later, after a fine description of the sorties in May 1943, and to his great credit, he describes the terrible toll on the noncombatant German citizens and POW’s. Well over 2,000 persons perished

A sobering account of one single mothers persistent struggle to make her way out of poverty. These folks are largely “invisible” but do jobs that enable us to have a clean home

It’s easy to be ignorant of the struggles of settlers in the Midwest. This book describes in anecdotal detail how hard work, faith in the future and a good amount of very good luck enabled some to not only survive but thrive

Very readable. Great read for anyone with aging parents or those of us in the last quartile of life

Already depressed and I'm only 27 pages into this fact filled account of America's move to a civil oligarchy

I actually started with page 137 which is in the late 18th century when Russian power was growing. Going on s Baltic cruise in a month. Surprising how much political and military action takes place during this time
