Bell plays a very critical role in not only providing information gleaned from her travels but also brokering renewed communication amongst British, French and the Turks

Reading such fine detail about this amazing woman I find it hard to understand how her life was eclipsed by that of T E Lawrence, popularly known as Lawrence of Arabia. Perhaps something to do with her being a woman.
