This is fascinating but also I keep feeling terrified because my dad had some major strokes a couple years ago and I remember being with him in the hospital, and how his mind was, and how sometimes still his mind seems bad. It was so fucking scary for me and this book is taking me back there. Ugh

Dude seriously why doesn't he just kill Lestat??? This is some serious narcissistic abuse white trash drama shit and it makes no sense because Louis is rich as fuck he can literally just leave. He can just leave!!!!!! I hate this.

Really not enjoying the pedophilia here. I mean, I'm really not enjoying anything about this book, but this is... A lot. Lestat is the fucking worst and Louie is just like, weak, and trapped in this domestic abuse type situation by Lestat. I hate these dudes. Like what the fuck even is this book? What is a person supposed to enjoy about this?

Jesus Christ this is a slog. Absolute amateur hour. I feel like I'm looking at the matrix instead of what the matrix is supposed to display to me. I've learned to recognize this as the mark of poor writing. Maximum respect though to the author for getting rich as hell off this book

Man this book sucks (hah) so far. I have so many questions. Like why is "the boy" who is recording the interview so fucking sweaty??? Is it because they turned on the light bulb? People don't remember this but back in the 20th century light bulbs were made of a hot piece of metal inside a glass globe, and they generated a lot of heat. They made a big show of Louis wanting the lights on in the room, so maybe ?..

I have learned the word polemical. This means writing in a bombastic, argumentative, intense style. This is what Nietzsche does and I think it's completely fucking stupid. Writing in this style is the easiest way to write. You can observe this if you look at the way most ideas of no value are written, If you watch a little Fox News, if you go on the internet anywhere. But his brain was full of holes, so okay. lol

This is making me feel a lot of pity and sadness. He apparently thinks that humans will become smarter and more rational in the future. Sorry buddy, we've been devolving.

Imagine if Nietzsche got antidepressants

Nietzsche is a rough read for me because he's off in his own little world ranting his facts as he sees them and his observations don't reflect the reality I live in so it's kind of exhausting. Have to fully suspend my disbelief.

This is going to be the longest book I've ever read. Feels good. Wish I'd had books earlier in life though. This would have been a fun one to read as a tween

Okay yeah this book is actually kind of funny because the main character is such a loser, such a pitiful disaster, plus the ongoing bit about the cigarettes falling apart. It would be much funnier if it didn't land so hard. So many men are this guy right now all around us. Damn that's tragic

Holy shit have you guys read this? You have to read this. Throw away everything you think you know about the character Frankenstein and his monster. This feels like watching the original Godzilla after being raised on the '60s movies.
