I don't know what it means, but the books with reputation for being difficult or confusing to glom onto are for me the only easy books to read. I can't even get through a couple sentences of Nora Roberts without a massive migraine and a meltdown but this is so easy... Just inject it directly into my veins. So so good.

This book would have been better for me to do on paper (I'm trying audiobooks starting with this one) because it's so slow and horrifying. Also im so bad at understanding information when it is spoken. This book is very very upsetting

This is going very slowly because my brain is in the process of becoming a sober brain instead of a extremely drunk 24/7 brain. So it's like I'm trying to ride the bicycle but I keep tipping over. Incredibly depressing. I'm not even sure if it's all autism at this point with me. I'm so depressed that I have no roles to fill and can't imagine one for myself again and even if someone hired me to play one for a million bucks a day I don't think i could do it. To strangle someone is such a symbolic thing if you think about it. I suggest you not really think about it too hard. But if you're being strangled and you're disassociating while also probably almost dying you might think about it. About how sad it is to be decapitated by fists forming around you.

I want to say men will hate this book because they don't want to understand how other people feel or believe that what they do is wrong. But the truth is men don't give a fuck what other people feel or how what they do affects others. Every word out of a man's mouth is "Because we can."

This book is a real immersion in how these people lived. I'm looking things up constantly. Gas mantles and zinc bathtubs. Sen-sen licorice mints. Hansom cabs. Really enjoying this aspect of the book very much. A great book to entertain you if you're all alone.

It's growing on me. This is a great book to read when you are sick or otherwise estranged. I can see why the men read it in the trenches. Very descriptive. I wish real life was like this instead of shivering in trenches

This is bumming me out. I do not see anything beautiful about the lives of the poor. I want stories of millionaire thriats being slit in the night. Maybe this will go there? I can hope

I legitimately love this book. I want it never to end. I guess once it ends I can read it over again. Yes I know there are more volumes. I wish everyone had to read this book the same way they had to read other classics. Though, I don't actually know if people do have to read classics at all anymore. What is our children learning!???

So I started reading this pretty much randomly but it's inspiring me to reflect about my past relationships, sociology class, all kinds of stuff. I've got a new therapist I'll be working with soon thank God. I really want to be authentic and have meaningful interactions! God it's hard to be appropriate, to feel what we should, etc!
