I'm totally loving these! <3 <3 <3!

Really loving these bite-sized bits of Liaden Universe.

I had an Audible app oopsie, and now have no idea where I was in the audiobook. It doesn't help that I read book 2 after I'd started listening to book 1 and thus have no memory of location in plot. Time for a break and try again later?

Typo: supposed to be "live" not "lives."

You're/your mistake. This time "your" is correct.

Typo: "taunt" when "taut" is meant. (Jarring, as it's been clean copy so far.)

I'm not saying the freaks gave me nightmares, but I am saying I had a difficult time going to sleep, and slept badly because I kept jerking awake every couple of hours.

There's a typo: "swive" is missing its final letter. (Trust me to know the proper spelling for an archaic word meaning to "have sexual intercourse with." *eyeroll*)

Funny. Twenty pages later…and I'm much more forgiving of the h/h.

*cringe* I'm reading this ten years too late. Even five years ago I would've lapped this up with a spoon. Now? Now I have violent, unhappy feelings towards the hero and heroine.

Okay, I don't get this whole don't-even-look-at-my-little-sister thing that Mitch has going on and everyone is tiptoeing around. She's a grown woman, FFS—and he's a good guy. *eyeroll*

"It's all right. I have a license to stun."

"I thought that was supposed to be a license to kill."

I was wrong. Most of the time Éléonore is mispronounced as E-le-o-no-ray by the narrator. It's just that one character who mangles the name as É-lé-on-ray to match his unnatural emphasis on the wrong syllables of his French.

It really bugs me that the narrator pronounces Éléonore as E-le-on-ray. My instinct (and high school French) says to pronounce it E-leo-nor or E-le-o-nor. :(

Not to mention, the highly educated blueblood has an atrocious accent when he completely mispronounces his French. >:(

I'm considerately less charmed as the story progresses. So many old skool clichés! Hero has seeds of alphole in him. *sadface*

It's curious… I constantly cringe at the myriad mistorical aspects, while being thoroughly charmed by the book as a whole.

(What is this magic that makes me so forgiving of the inaccuracies in the old skool historicals by The Greats? *ponders*)

Now I'm all sniffly because of this scene from Six's POV.

The narrator's "Estonian" accent sounds Russian American and most of the female voices sound wimpy. I canNOT forgive him for how weak he makes Nïx sound. >:(

Some males seem to be growing up while others are shoving their heads farther up their own asses.
