Not fantasy. It's more magical realism. Jump scares. Horrifying images that play on many people's fears from spiders, snakes, carnivals, and the dark. A little humor thrown in there like comedic relief. The best law enforcement partners. Intelligent and trusting of one another. One horror book with more intensity than gore, but plenty of it, still. It should be a movie. Mike Flanagan, please?

Just had to take a break. I'm crying too hard to keep going atm. 😭

I scanned through this while I was at the public library. The introduction summed up the history of unicorns so well and how so many people began to believe in them. I was really intrigued. The artwork is beautiful as well.

I'm on chapter 27. I began this book more than a month ago. This book takes place in a day that reminds me of the late middle ages. There are thieves lurking in the woods and clergy, similar to that of catholic priests, seem to have a lot of influence in the social dynamics in this book. Despite how long it's been taking me to read I have been enjoying it so far for its depth, magic and character development.

The intensity of emotions are building as Chance and Ana are getting to know one another. Ana is a humble girl not exposed much to boys because of her heart condition. Chance has a strong family first value. They go to one anothers homes for dinner. Ana meets his family and his mother seems to know that she is hiding something about herself from them. This is a romance that moves at a realistic small town pace.

This book begins with introductions of the main characters and how they meet. Ana is a small young woman with a heart condition who had to move to Idaho to be closer to family after her mother gets laid off. Chance is a young mechanic who lives by the lake and would prefer to spend time with his grandfather than his friends. They become partners in an elective class but both have secrets that keep them gaurded.

I'm reading the books by Alice Hoffman. I picked Green Heart back up after putting it down to read Night Circus.
I like the little white moths. To me they were always butterflys because they were lighting on wildflowers at day like monarchs. Alice writes them into her story only they have turned black from the ash. A moment passes and I read about the Enchantress and a black moth flutters across my vision.

I'm already 15% through and I'm still impressed. Her characters are so unique. Her descriptions create clear images in my mind. I don't want to miss s detail so I read through paragraphs over again.

I have only finished the first chapter. This author has drawn me in writing from a point of view in a unique way. I can't wait to read more! I'm impressed. Her style is perfect. I know I will enjoy this one until it's complete.

I'm still in the prologue. I highly recommend reading it. He finally refers to the murderers as narcissists which I have been thinking all along by the way he has been describing them. The content is tragic. This book is well written.

This kid is creepy. This feels like reading a horror novel or psychological thriller so far. I was not expecting that!

This book is hilarious. I was reading a serious one earlier and needed the break. This book is a great escape. I am so impressed by how much I've laughed through it. The main character is relatable.

I'm blown away by this book. I can relate to it so well and that's what is so surprising. My life isn't as extreme as Aja's is but this author is tuned in to how people work and writ a magical story based in reality boldly facing all the issues in our society and allowing the characters to speak from their own perspectives. They seem to represent well the various opinions that would naturally develop within a society

This is an interesting book because it's from the first person point of view but about someone else entirely describing scenarios in which a young woman demonstrates her powers. An underlying intensity comes from a determined antagonist and tension is created by including romance between two opposites. I love the spark. I can't put it down.

I'm reading this online from sacred archives. The chapters on magic were the most interesting and more interesting portion of this book. I don't know if I'll finish. I'm skimming over portions that are redundant, which many readers have done because of it.

I couldn't recommend this book and I'm not watching the movie. This book is graphic. it's well written and has a lot of heart. Lovingly written is how I would sum it up.

page 152-153 funny and moving. it goes to show the beauty of forgiveness and how it brings people together

This book had made me laugh, now I'm crying buckets. This book is intense.
