I find it hard to believe a spacefaring race would struggle to grasp the concept of a BAG.

The writing style for this is so disjointed and bizzarre.

Still way too magical for sci-fi. Its also clear from the first chapter where this is going to end up - is that a feature rather than a bug in romance?

I like the idea of fragmenting/splinters, but it feels like magic. This isn't really sci-fi, its science-fantasy and makes the vibes all over the place.

I don't really buy the space vampire bone bug giant man as a love interest.

A new alien has entered the chat. This one seems to have a lot less physical description other than 'he tall'

I dislike that his morphology is changing to be more human. I want the aliens to be truly alien, not the forehead alien variety. I also dislike the messaging that one needs to be physically perfect to be worthy of love.

Mammals with 4 arms and Earth predator heads (e.g., wolf, lion, bear) sure seem to be a staple of sci-fi monster fuckery when they seem better suited for fantasy.

Stephen King really emphasizes the role of isolation in horror. This makes sense, as scary things are less scary when you have an army at your back. Humans are social animals who depend on community for their mental health, for their very survival, and taking that away in some fashion is critical for us to experience actual horror or terror.
