Why does this one have such copious amounts of butt stuff compared to the first?

This is such a product of its time. A bit of tokenism, a bit of 'both sides', this mix of optimism and disinterest so unique to young gen X and elder Millenials. The idea that everyone sucks but will give in to our better nature if it was truly needed. It does not age well.

I like the idea of fragmenting/splinters, but it feels like magic. This isn't really sci-fi, its science-fantasy and makes the vibes all over the place.
