I have to vent. I started this book yesterday & am on Chapter 7. All this main character does is talk about sleeping, not sleeping, being tired, wanting to sleep, needing to sleep, suffering from the effects of little sleep, only sleeping 2 hours in 2 days, looking at a bed with longing, being so excited to go to bed, etc, etc, etc. I mean I get it, I love going to bed and sleeping too, but this is completely awful.

Just started this book today and wish I had nothing to do so I wouldn't have to stop! Could this author PLEASE write more artist biographies?!? Wow, what a talented writer.. definitely going to be a 5-star book.

Why am I rooting for her to fall off the wagon?!? She has the busiest social life!!! Wow. And I need a cast of characters.

Not sure I can continue ... so painfully awful.

Watched the movie first, which I almost never do. Loved the movie and now loving the book.

Either it's getting better or I'm just getting used to it... it's growing on me now.

I've tried, I really have, but I will do a little more skimming/speed-reading, and then I will call it a day on this book. It will be the first book I will ever allow myself to quit. As much as I love Christopher Plummer, the actor, I cannot accomplish his extremely thorough memoir. I feel like a failure.

I need to skim thru the rest of this book. It is painfully tedious & boring.

Started out promising but now I just can't wait til it's over & I could care less what the outcome is. It's so boring & awful I keep forgetting what I'm even reading.

Please, please let this book get better. It's so tedious. I am hoping that the big surprise of the story is not that she is writing to her dead husband that her son killed, because obviously that's the case. Enough background already! I want to get to the real plot!!!!!

Chapter 3 is possibly the most heartbreaking thing I've ever read. Profound. Read each sentence twice, it seems. (Tears)
