The action is different from the movie. More spy versus spy. Locating the Titanic look less time but after raising her they hit a hurricane. There is the helpless woman who then gets nude trope which I hated. The idea men will go to great lengths to protect said woman is also a fallacy. Thank the Goddess times have changed.

Found the sexist 70s man "I hate feminist" section. Eh gads, no one suffers more than white men with sensitive egos. They found the Titanic easy enough which is quite different than the storyline in the movie. Lots more Soviet intrigue as well.

Chugging along. A lot of info about the 1911 miners. The blaster, Jake, still had a living widow who in the story is 93 in the 1970s. The next section has the date as September, 1987, which is after the movie was filmed. A real WTF?

Feels dated but still a fun read. The forward was written after the location of the Titanic was found but not before subs filmed it and especially not after the movie.

I like the flow of her story. She now owns the Barefoot Contessa which she purchased for five grand in 1978. Interesting perspective on her mother who was a trained nutritionist but did not serve any food that had flavor. Garden gives good advice about how to make food presentable and know how it will be used in terms of eating - picnic versus formal dinner party.

Kathy, the wife and mother, committed suicide while at the hospital. David blames the medical doctors and escaped with Ellie. They were betray by Gany and now are at the mercy of the terrorists group the Worlders who believe Ellie may have the power to heal them by laying her hands on individuals. I predict Ellienis going to give them a smack down.

David has met up with his stepbrother Tim. Ellie tried to rescue a girl who was dying but couldn't but at least the girl died peacefully because of her. She wants to go back and see if her blood can offer a cure or immunization for the Folly. Time made some money in Kansas City. He believes the Folly will kill off humanity.

David has the Folly and Ellie is having second thoughts about being on the run because she feels it is irresponsible since she might offer the cure for the disease. She carries a shoebox full of three bird eggs that were abandoned by their mother. Since the Folly started the birds have vanished and the bugs are in reading and getting bigger. They have traveled to a campsite in Colorado.

Ellie has a special skill; she can either calm people down or give them a shock by touching them. The authorities are looking for them because they believe Ellie is a a key for immunization. Kathy her mother was used as some who had immunity. A doctor told David that he now has the disease based on his blood work.

A father and daughter are on the run after her mother, his wife, has died. A mysterious illness has developed. Apparently authorities believe Ellie is the key to solve the epidemic. Written in 2016, I found it very eerie. The father has cut off Ellie's hair and proclaimed her a boy while he has dyed his own hair. They are in a stolen car.

This condensed novel is for young readers which I didn't know when I ordered it. A ghost ship is found frozen into an iceberg. It was a research vessel that carried a flammable substance which killed the entire crew. The ship drifted into the iceberg still hot until it melted into the ice and froze. Thus far three assassination attempts have been made on Dirk Pitt.

Looks like the undertaker didn't. horn keeps thinking he knows who the killer is and this time he is correct but he does the dumbest thing that happens too often in books and movies and drinks a beverage provided by the murderer. Double the points if the protagonist's partner has no ideal where he went or why.

During the funeral a device was placed in the coffin that played the music "the bus's wheels go round and round" this trigger the actor son and he didn't attend his mother's wake leaving it up to his SO. He went back to his flat and was murdered. Horowitz got some info on Haw but it wasn't overly helpful. He thinks he knows who the murderer is.

At the funeral Diana's coffin started to play Wheels on the Bus which greatly upset her son, the actor now living in Hollywood. I suspect it was he who was driving the car. Hawthorn interrupted a meeting Horowitz was having with Steven Spielberg and Jackson over a Tintin sequel. They encouraged Horowitz to go to the funeral.

The woman who was killed had a hit and run case against her a decade before. She was driving without her glasses and ran into twin eight year old boys running across a road for ice cream. She killed one and left the other with brain damage. Hawthorne believed the now eighteen year old boy may have been threatening her but now believes the kid is too brain damaged.

Thus far no a lot of helpful info that I don't already know. As a person with empathic tendencies I wanted more knowledge on everything empathic including the exhaustion I often feel after being in a crowd.

A diary year old woman arranges and pays for her funeral and a few hours later she is straggled to death in her home. Her housekeeper discovers her and calls the police from her cell. She told the po-po she had been outside but it was raining that day. A detective no longer on the force is assigned as a special investigator. He has made a deal for a writer to write up the case - - 50/50 split.

The school has turned out to be a mafia of sorts. Rose tried to file a police report but there was no police station in the village. She tried to call a newspaper but even they were connected with the school. I feel the fire will be set by one of the girls trying to free themselves. Rose has interrupted a big meeting telling everyone they are disgusting. France's used to go to the school.

Rose has finally discovered the true purpose of the school which is to train the girls into becoming trophy wives. She is now off her probationary period. She feel trapped because she knows she will be limited in the job market and doesn't have the financial resources to take care of her mother. She is about to learn what the "value" means for the school.

The mystery continues. Bethany has sunk her allegations with her odd behavior and wanting her old teacher Jane back. Rose has found out that Jane is now teaching at a boarding school in Dublin and has written to her. Rose is missing her old life but her mother's new facility is grand. Rose finds there is a lot of sexism at the school.

Rose has started working at a well-known boarding schools in Scotland. Thus far it feels a little 1984ish. There are a lot of rules but little info about the hows and whys of the school. She has been accused of an abuse of a student she barely knows and who gives her the creeps. She has also learned there was a murder at the school the year before.

I just realized that I can't recall the protagonist's name. Well at least he has finally gotten the chance to bone Serena the woman of his dreams although she is a matron in her fifties. He is now telling the story of Portugal. Over a weekend at Serena's home he learned from her cousin that Damian and Serena wanted to marry.

He has gone to California and met up with the lone American whose daughter was purchased in Poland. He is down to the last woman on his list who is a cousin of Serena the woman he has always been in love with. He has recently broken up with his girlfriend. I have a feeling that no offspring will be discovered.

Still a sad find but a better story. He found the third prospect had died back in 1985 from a drug overdose. Her newly ex husband who was and remained rich was able to keep most of the info out of the newspapers. He did a test on their only son and the boy was his but he too died from what appeared a mysterious illness probably cancer related.
