The school has turned out to be a mafia of sorts. Rose tried to file a police report but there was no police station in the village. She tried to call a newspaper but even they were connected with the school. I feel the fire will be set by one of the girls trying to free themselves. Rose has interrupted a big meeting telling everyone they are disgusting. France's used to go to the school.

She feel trapped because she knows she will be limited in the job market and doesn't have the financial resources to take care of her mother. She is about to learn what the "value" means for the school.

Rose has started working at a well-known boarding schools in Scotland. Thus far it feels a little 1984ish. There are a lot of rules but little info about the hows and whys of the school. She has been accused of an abuse of a student she barely knows and who gives her the creeps. She has also learned there was a murder at the school the year before.
