Walking to the catch the train home from work one evening, I watched this middle aged gentleman calmly walk in front of me, look up, to the left and at exactly 4:16 as the train was pulling up to stop-he stepped off the platform. It traumatized the heck out of me then. But I’d gladly repeat the kneeling on the platform looking under the front of the train again, just to confirm pod for either Eden or Eli.

I have never read more effing annoying, silly, nerve grating characters on my life. I get mental illnesses-schizophrenia in particular, as it prompted my uncle to attempt to decap his wife with sissors because he was smoking a joint, and she kept "effing with him." I understand that - but these silly characters seem like they wre written by someone playing at understanding mental illness. It's annoying.

Sugar has GOT to be the single most annoying fmc I've read. ... The kind that makes me want to say, "yeah, follow noise outside, in the dark...alone ch,ch,ch,ch..."

I have NEVER read a book that was sooo absolutely exhausting. I feel like it's March 13,2020, the NBA and the all of the world just shut down and I'm struggling to comprehend week wth is going. Whooosaaa

So much wrong - Too many POVs & MCs. Could have easily been several books - that way, you could take the time and write a good story. Whew- a mess. T Amber & Preston - the former behaves as if she is going through puberty. Eva & Aiden...yean, I am going to hold there. The whole "mafia" thing? Yeah right - its seriously lacking...Queen of the South, Narco - anything to get an idea.

Gosh, this is a hard read. Entirely too much, absolutely, ridiculously unnecessary, almost flowery inner dialogue, commentary, and history (that makes no sense). Get that? I keep hearing Richard Pryor tell the joke where his dad fusses while at the cemetery when they buried his mom on the coldest day ever in Peoria, Illinos saying, "Get to the part about da dirt! It's cold out here dammit!"

Wow, this book is racist as hell! What in the ever loving HELL was I thinking about the first time I read it? I mean, "oriental" to describe an Asian woman? Tired looking like an old MULE to describe a black man? WTF??? Imaginative writing, eloquence with words and the ability to conjugate verbs does not negate the racist tones in this book. Midst pandemic re-read has changed my opinion for sure.

I am struggling with this one. Maybe my expectations are out of control, but I am starting Chapter 6 and bored to tears. I need to be GRABBED...immediately.

I am going to have to read a couple of books simultaneously to avoid the desire to go to sleep, sleep through the rest of the pandemic, wake up on the other side and read a more interesting book once there....hopefully it gets better.

Wow! this story is s.......l.....o....w..... I feel like it's just beginning, but I "hear" it's such a good book and I likea previous book by the author, so this is a serios struggle not to chunk it into that "could not finish" pile.

OMG!!!! I love this series so much! I need either blast Karen with an email everyday about the next one, or find that fav coffe joint every author uses and just sit next to her and bug her like that lil dog on one of them old "Tom & Jerry" shows. "When is the next one Spike? Huh Spike? Huh? Huh? Spike? Soon Spike?
