I don't really know anything about Keith Rosson, but from the first bit of this story, I can tell he really hates Julia.

Excellent podcast

I am not doing well with picking books. Either that or this author lacks the ability to describe things eloquently. Also, she must read as many comic books as I do. This is a ripoff of a lot of *spoiler* stories.

I’m trying with this book. I’m trying hard but the dnf pile is calling. It’s a slog so far though the author is a fantastic writer. Just very slow world building.

I’m not enjoying this one as much as the first one. So far, the best line in it is, “the Coldplay incident” and that is how I shall refer to all of their music henceforth.

Wrote something about reading so figured it would fit nicely here.

I will eventually have my revenge on my wife who made me read this book. It’s not for the emotionally weak. This poor guy.

I’ve always resisted the idea that publishers pay for good reviews or in some way compensate reviewers. I am starting to change my mind. This book has good reviews, I don’t get it. I’m 1/2 through and the author has spent that time trying to convince me this book is going to get really scary soon and it just doesn’t happen. I seldom start a book without finishing but this one might get added to that pile.

I’m really struggling with this book. It’s not bad or anything like that. I just find myself zoning out while reading it.

So far it’s a mix of Green Lantern meets Clerks meets Men in Black. That sounds like a bad thing but I love all those things. I am really enjoying the characters, especially Ray and the writing is pretty strong.

I cannot finish this book. I wanted to like it, I really like Gideon as the character and some of the writing is absolutely brilliant and that's the problem. The rest of it is so mediocre that I just can't trudge through it to get to the brilliant bits. Oh well.

Overall I liked it ok but it was mostly typical modern vampire fare. Not that impressive.

I’m trying to like it because I love the Sandman Slim series. The dialogue is awful and the supposed lead character is boring. Finishing is a struggle.

So far this isn’t bad as far as Harry Potter ripoffs go. I mean every time it mentions their points system I shout “50 points from gryffindor!” Make no mistake it is a ripoff but I got it free from some audible promotion so why not.

This guy did not get the “don’t use a $1.00 word to express a $.25 idea” lesson in high school.

Love it so far.

The recaps are killing me. Stop it!
