I’ve always resisted the idea that publishers pay for good reviews or in some way compensate reviewers. I am starting to change my mind. This book has good reviews, I don’t get it. I’m 1/2 through and the author has spent that time trying to convince me this book is going to get really scary soon and it just doesn’t happen. I seldom start a book without finishing but this one might get added to that pile.
