It should have been split into parts, because 1500 half chapters should be at least 35 books.
But it's like the pocket watch of time where the author was a uni student who watched some movies and took world history and just have the main character fall into these scenarios grand adventures. Other than the lack of side characters that gets dialog or sticks around, the writing was delightful.

Declaring something doesn't make it true, especially when it's to make an excuse for what just happened despite the reality. 5 sentences into the the book: "I've never been caught until now"; uh, you just got caught, Telling people you're not stupid only makes you seem more stupid. And stupidity is a horrible plot driver. Find a way leaning more towards misfortune than stupidity to introduce events. Fking amateur.

I hate what the word feminist stand for in the modern world as much as anybody, but the amount of reverse misogyny in this book that serves as the only pivot in the plot makes me want to drop the series. A new girl is brought into each subsequent volume, and they either die without any character development, or they fade into the background like many that have came before them, with childish notions about the world.

I mean, unless the plot is complete garbage and the characters are flying vaginas, it's so far a 75/100.

This isn't medieval Europe, why was there a old guy selling fruit out of a cart? Omg, it got me for the first 5 minutes and then it went all sociopathic to shits immediately.

So a bit of voyeur seem to quality this book for the "Dark" category, which was disappointing. And while the plot was well above average with some unexpected fresh ideas, once again amateur writers produced a bunch of one dimensional characters.
The sauce is in the details, the imperfections. But we never got to meet the girl with green hair, we lose her less than a chapter into the book.

I've not been so excited about a book since Mistborn. There's suddenly so many elements introduced, it feels like I'm lost in some fantastic intricate world. But once again it's lacking in character development and personality. Between Vaelin, Lyrna, and Frentis, the story is split and equally interesting. It's Wheel of Time all over again. If there's no character to get attached to, there's no love for the book.

After reading the first 2 books, which were lengthy books, I finally gathered the courage to read the new release. Man, when the leather clad mistress of ice sudden go meek and timid I totally fell for the "I'm not normal, do I deserve to be happy?" It never gets old for me, because it forces people who care to offer empathy.

This is definitely my kind of book, cheesy but sweet like a chick flick but with the sex.
