I would be caught up on my 2024 Reading Challenge had I not tackled two Joe Hill tomes in a row. Seriously. These things should be worth at LEAST two or three books EACH toward my goal. 😏🙄

Disappointed in the final round choices for the first time in many years.

Authors who leave nasty comments because a reviewer doesn’t like their work should be banned. INFURIATING. If you’re going to put your work out for public consumption, you shouldn’t complain when someone points out your inconsistencies and errors.

It drives me bananas when an author writes a supposedly “American” novel but fails to avoid British, or perhaps Irish, phrasing. When was the last time an American housewife said, “A young lad....” or a young mother said, “I felt like a right hippo...”. These decidedly “un” American constructs remove me from the story every single time.

I am SO loving this! The author has created characters that are engaging and interesting. I’m savoring the pages, as I don’t want this one to end!

The beginning does not bode well. Totally ludicrous character interactions. Working up to a DNF.

Can anyone who reviews on NetGalley answer a question pleassseeee. If I encounter errors in formatting on a Kindle edition, should I mention that in my feedback? Also, with the book I’m currently reading, the Kindle edition opened to the author’s notes that are supposed to appear at the end. It totally gave away the plot twist! Soooo frustrating! Should THAT be mentioned? Thanks in advance!!
