Recently, one of my GR friends posted a review of a book that revolves around a bunch of actors who were staging King Lear (I think). I can’t for the life of me remember the title....anyone??

Looked and sadly, no. This was a novel about a bunch of actors.
It made me think of Atwood's Hag-Seed, because the prisoners act out the play, but they are acting out The Tempest, not Lear. If I have an epiphany, I'll let you know.
Commenting here more to see the answer out of curiosity LOL - but the jumping off point for Station Eleven is a famous actor dying while performing Lear.
