Starting chapter 9.

This book is 4 years old, and WordPress has changed a bit. There are some file references which are out of date.

Ugh, this book is agony. When an author uses the phrase "it's simple" and "clearly" every other paragraph, it's a good bet that he doesn't even believe it himself. When information is truly simple, there's no need to point it out to the reader. And no, Thord, it wasn't simple.
Starting a book with a PHP lesson yet without useful or interesting examples was a tragic mistake.

I'm loving this book. Mostly because although it's about programming, it's not written by a programmer, so he explains a lot of things about which I've long been curious, using layman's terms.

I fell asleep a few pages in. Not sure if it was just a long day, if the book is actually just that dull, or if I just obviously have a demonstrable need to learn to focus better.

Look up "heuristics" before starting this book. super interesting!

I've only finished the introduction, yet already can tell that I should have had a book like this 4 years ago! It's already changed my thinking and business plans. Definitely plan on using a highlighter and taking notes. It's also a joy to read. Laura Klein is SO funny! It has put a grin on my face a dozen times just in 30 pages.
