I don’t understand German writers’ obsession with relationships between 15-year-old boys and grownup women.

This book has two of the things I don’t like:

- Verbosity. I don’t like it when non-fiction books aimed at general public try to be funny/bold/interesting and go on about something for pages.
- Me me me me I did this I did that, how poor are the others for not doing that. For a whole chapter it is about what amazing things can be achieved with Bayesian networks. I did not get at all how it works?

Ich bedauere, Ihnen mitteilen zu müssen, dass ich ein weiteres deutsches Buch ausgesucht habe, das für Nicht-Fließende kaum zugänglich ist.

Parfois le livre m'est difficile à lire, une dystopie étouffante. J'espère que le reste est moins sombre

Une fois par jour au moins j’aimerais recevoir l’autorisation de mourir. Mais ce n’est pas une option. Il me faut rester droite. I like his approach to certain topics and his style, although it has many inside references specific to French national identity and the upper class. Why are Germans so obsessed with him? Is it because he tickles their non-existent sense of humour or because they like reading an unreserved French guy who isn’t afraid to say the controversial things they only dream of?
