I’m back to this, listening from the beginning again. I’m at chapter 8 and I hate the Signit-circus storyline.

I was listening to this audiobook while working, and I realized that I have to listen to the whole thing from the beginning because I have no idea what’s happening. Not a listen-while-working kind of book. Which is strange, because I listened to the first book while working and I loved it. Huh.

Not bad, not bad. But not much is happening. This doesn’t live up to old Johanna Lindsey, even though I admit that I was very young when I read those, so they might not live up to my memory

Why the hell is everyone acting like it’s a big secret where Vanessa and her father have been for 6 years? It’s so fucking obvious they were in Scotland. Vanessa brought back 2 fucking Scotsmen as guards. Not to mention her father has Scottish ancestry. FFS are they all stupid

She does a lot of shrieking. Sounds awful

UGH! Frey is a fucking ASS

So I can’t remember what I thought the last time I read this, but Finnie is kind of a dumbass and she’s annoying me

Rereading

Holy shit. This is starting out to be so much better than the first 2 books. I almost can’t believe it’s the same author

Ok, it’s gotten better. Will edit my review when done

Oh COME ON

🤨

I have absolutely no idea what the hell is going on between Luna and Knox. What is their problem? This makes no sense.

This doesn’t make any sense. He knows too much about things that happened

Nope. Unforgivable

That sneaky fucking liar

I think this is numbered wrong because a lot of stuff mentioned hasn’t happened

I never know what the “present day” year actually is. In all these books, it’s so confusing. They’re written as if Smokey and his friends had children born in the 70s but then nothing else makes sense time-wise

Seriously, his real name is so cool: Lazarus. Why did he get stuck with such a lame road name- Lout. And now his pet name is COCOA?

Their nicknames/pet names for each other are so bad. Cocoa and Vanilla🙄

WHY DOES SHE KEEP USING THE WRONG YOUR/YOU’RE?! If YOU’RE a writer, you should fucking know the difference

I’m pretty sure none of these books have ever been edited. They have so many annoying simple errors, like wrong/mixed up characters and punctuation.

I started this, but UGH maybe I should skip it. This is one of my top 5 least liked tropes. Wait, would that be low 5? I hate the pregnancy trope. Where the FMC is already pregnant when they meet.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE COVERS? They must be stopped.

How can this cover be even worse than the last? THIS IS HOW. It’s like- is he… pooping?

I was totally in the mood for one of these Starting life over/fresh start tropes

Cee Bowerman, please stop with the potato bodied ordinary men covers.

WHAT?!

I love Penny Reid and pretty much anything she writes, but she seems to always have these FMCs that are willfully oblivious to the MMC being in love with them

She’s setting all the rules, but then she’s bitter about them. 🫤
