Ok survived the worst of the racist language.

I’m barely into this book and while I know how racist homophobic white males with a tiny bit of power are, this text is over the top. I cannot count the number of racial slurs and I’m only at 15%. It’s almost getting unreadable and I’m starting to wonder if this author is enjoying being able to say these things out loud. Not cool.

May all future and current cat ladies bond thru this book lol

Is it terrible that when she goes on about her life I only perk up at the Epstein parts? I know it’s a small but dominant part of her life and the rest is to show how it messed her up, but i would be more engaged if the book was just about her life with Epstein trafficking ring.

Love the gothic suburban theme set in the 1950s.

I never read more than the first two sentences of a synopsis so I usually have only a vague sense of the story- so it’s way more complex than a typical suburban horror story and I’m here for it.

Listening to the audiobook- absolutely hate the reader- her cadence irks me.

Only by the end did I figure out all the names. This was a helluva audiobook. Good story as always tho

Did not find captivating - rehashed old book I’m guessing.. he got a lot better at writing!

I love her horrible characters. I like to think I would be a little bit like our anti-heroine - if only I could get away with it 😂😂😂

This seems like maybe one of his earlier books- talk about boring AF and I’m dizzy with all the back and forth in time.

A little feminist creep to add to the usual fun tales by alice F. I was a little surprised at where this book takes us! Not the typical thriller

Fun but I missed the narrator for the other Findlay books. I’m so used to her speaking for Vero after 5 novels in the series lol. Still a fun glimpse into her backstory
