Munne- I originally struggled the most with her story maybe because she's so type A to begin with. Now she is underground with mushrooms and with her female group looking for something to help her not be crazy ...I think.

Took me a minute to remember what was going on...now I'm smiling because they are so cute with their bargains and power plays

Cressida - best friend to Astrea. Mechanic. And....metal? Magic I think. (She hasn't used it yet in this book and I don't clearly remember)
I love that Astrea has found family in her friends who are a part of this mystery unraveling adventure.

This is what book 4? I love Astrea and Jin.
This book picks up right were the last book left off. Astrea is none tired after using too much magic but she's not as depressive/ hard on herself. Jins green light love is everything a girl could want. Granted haven't seen much of it this book yet but I know it's there.

Waking up in the dark to two large men in your room and no explanation what's going on sounds real sketchy are there adults who really think that is the best way to handle an unruly teen and pay for the service...

Del -orphan, walker, Thief with some magic currently in the equivalent of Alaska with a tribe that helped split the demon from A princess she kidnapped.

Did I already say I'm going into this blind? I have had this on my TBR forever and finally got around to borrowing the audiobook. Apparently it's a murder mystery via school research project into a small town crime 5 years prior. She knows some of the people related to what happened and believes the police got it wrong.

Seth was my favorite pov last book. Seth is in a wheelchair. And his father wants to use him somehow with his magic to raise a god for an interesting race of people.
His twin Octavia is a military leader for this group. Loves her brother despite what hardships there may be wedged in their lives.
Lisanthir is Seth's badass boyfriend who Seth met on last books unsanctioned adventure who is now disguised as help...

I almost forgot that there were so many different characters with unique situations going on in this ongoing story.

I've really been liking the story I feel like I'm enjoying it a lot more than some of the prior books in the series it's like a good pacing and all of the characters are more likable at this point.

I go into every book having no idea what it's about.

Just want to let everyone know there are two books already out to check out now before this one is published! Multi POVs, epic quests, dangerous secrets, magic and mythology.... A little bit of everything

Read this if: you like fantasy where the real battle is internal—guilt, self-loathing, survival guilt over things done to still be alive. High trigger/ connection potential.

Some books I have to read 100 pages in to be interested. Not this one, I'm interested, and they just set up the mystery the 2 POVs are going ot be working together on.

The world is so much bigger now, with more mythology and darkness attached to the magic. Last book was Small World Fear, this book is like, hey, maybe those fears and worse ones are real and worth worrying about.

it is slow but bringing back a lot of former sideline people like Havelock I didn't realize he was Miller's partner before all the bad stuff.

Her work is very character driven- that being said I've remembered who & what was going on in book 1 and we've had a prison escape /fight scene with some spy stuff added in and we are ready for take off.
