I refuse to believe that Patterson is this funny. He has never struck me as being even vaguely able to write women and I suspect that Susan DaLilo is truly the author of this novel. The main character is a hoot!

It’s as dark and sad and violent as I thought it would be, but not without humour and a character to root for, which I wasn’t expecting.

It’s really white. It’s..white women wanting to name her kids a unique name but never actually unique.

Probably THE book to read in between all the moral shouting from both the right and left wing. I started it because I was exhausted by the chest pounding of the West speaking for Iranians.

Just the most heartfelt novel while being satirical and funny at the same time. Jolene is a wonderful heroine!

It’s so good! Funny but not flippant and love the Persian rep at a time like this.

The “bawse” line was such a turn off I almost threw the book away. Do Punjabi Desis not have any other idiotic woman to adore than Lily Singh??
