okay… the first and second story were an onslaught of terrible people making terrible decisions and just being… so nauseous. The third story about the gay Asian incel sadist was kind of interesting. Let’s see what else occurs. I nearly gave up after the second because like My Year of Rest and Relaxation, it made me feel really despondent and bad about life.

100 pages in and only two chapters done… gag

Reading my mama’s old copy of this book. Haven’t read another Márquez since A Hundred Years of Solitude in 2020. Really looking forward to diving into this.

Finding this a delightful read overall but wishing for clearer chronology so I can get a better sense of Bowery’s life.

it’s interesting that this is like a tv documentary but in book form?

So far this is an interesting, if imbalanced, blend of memoir/autobiography and history… keen to see where that balance goes.

I am frankly overwhelmed by all the color and detail of these panels.. but I like it so far! It’s much less introspective / academic than the other ones I’ve read… which is nice! In content it’s relaxing for the brain. It’s also pretty funny?

New Alison Bechdel that I randomly discovered at the bookshop today ?! don’t know why I hadn’t found out about it before.

Also, Theo stop starting a new book everyday challenge: impossible.

This book is like Groundhog Day…

chapter/part one was absolutely wild! it was honestly dizzying how much LIFE was covered. Lily gave an extract of this to us for prac crit in Michaelmas and I’m so glad I’m coming around to reading it
