The Sacred and The Superfund is one loooooong chapter that I wish could have been broken up. 😭 Super important and deserves the time for the subjects it addresses! But it could’ve been a supplementary booklet. Kinda killed the flow and pace of the book. Or maybe I was not in the right mindset to tackle this subject at this depth. Still I love this book so much. 🩵

a book you'd want to last forever

Had I, myself, not arrived, empirically and not by reason, at ideas and experiences similar to those of Prince Myshkin—regrading his ailment and joy, I would have dismissed it all as being cute literature that “makes sense” for him but not for me. Oh how timely is this reading. 🤍 I’m referring to the moments of “light” is Part 2 Chapter 5. How wondrous are those little inexplicable joys.

In progress: the sweetgrass communal braiding, the pecans, and the animacy grammar!!!!!! We need a language of animacy for it regards life as sacred, even sacramental? that needs more exploration), even as ….”holy”? (think Evdokimov age of the spiritual life intro/1st chapter). Yummy book so far.
