dnf at 54%. Got too political for me when I was really just craving a dystopian survival novel.

Nope. I just can't get into this. There's a lot of standing around and talking, a lot of going to meetings, a lot of miscommunication. I'm too bored to give it more of a chance.

Life is too short to read mediocre books.

After several years, I should probably admit to myself that I'm never going to finish this book. Off the "currently reading" list it goes.

Holy sheet. This book is beautiful. I'm blasting through it. Can't. Put. Down.

Not sure I can finish it. It's so dark. Every scene revolves around sex and who might be forced to have it, and there's never a break. The two main characters are hardly ever together. This book just isn't for me. Wish I hadn't blindly bought the first two in the series. Damn.

Finally started skimming up to the end. Ehh.

I've had this in my currently reading pile for years now. At some point, you just have to give up. That point for me was when I moved and lost the book. Oh well.

Omg! This book is crazy! Can't believe I'm only 44% of the way through. So much has already happened.

I hate this fucking book. It's exhausting and rambling and pretentious. I've been reading it for 3 months now. The only reason I haven't dumped it is because I liked the movie. Imagine an annoying, whiny, angsty teenager. Now add precocious, rich, and pretentious into the mix. You have this book! Paragraph after paragraph in that teenager's mind. Have fun.

Holy moly, this book was amazing. So many twist and turns. I was screeching into my hand at many unexpected parts. I love Eugenedes. I love the queens. Yes yes. More please.

I can't believe how much I like Crash after reading this. And, ok, I was kind of really digging the idea of a quick fling between Crash and Vic. They're just so wonderfully contrasty.

2.5 Stars. Might round up to 3 for some nice metaphors.

It's all a bit silly. Scarlet has zero personality except to be beautiful and virginal. In the end we find out that someone more clever than her was pulling the strings and she just went flopping about the whole time without a clue. I wasn't even surprised because she already seemed so lifeless throughout the whole book.

5 Big Stars. A sweet couple set in a beautiful world. I read this book during an intense, rough month in my life, and Harper Fox's words were such a comfort to me. This book became my safety net.

I hate this damn book.

4.5 Stars. A total feel-good fantasy read. Loved it.

A beautiful, touching story.

3.5 Stars. Cute and unique. But I bought John was actually pretty forgettable for an alien. Not much of a personality. There was also a lot of hugging in this book. Like, A LOT of hugging.

Like 3.5 stars. I don't know. It has great parts, especially towards the end. But there were parts that bored me.

So far...yawn. Going over the plans to pull off the heist might be one of the most boring things I've ever read. I should have known I wouldn't like this book when someone compared it to Ocean's 11, which I hate.

"Song of Achilles" or "How Thousands of People Died Because of a Few Disgusting, Privileged Men" I'm not a fan of Achilles or many of the characters in this book. It's a hard read at parts simply because I want to punch so many of these characters.

I've never done this before, but somehow I managed to lose this book. I may never finish it.

J.X. is really ticking me off now. First he tells Kit to take the stalker seriously, but then he goes and incites him. Next he sees what the stalker just did to the other guy, yet he sends Kit away from him, alone, back into the house knowing the stalker is still lurking around somewhere. No wonder he's not a cop anymore.

2.5 Stars. I really don't know what to rate this. I never connected with any of the characters. There were too many too many times when the book seemed like it was trying to be profound. It kept grasping for deep but never got there. It was ok but not compelling.

Well I suspected that was coming but I still don't like it. There is no hope in this book. It's too depressing.

Not sure I'm going to make it to the end. The question of why the aliens are attacking humanity a certain way is asked over and over. The book pulls away from the answer again and again. The question has been asked so much that I'm starting to wonder if I even care about the answer anymore.

Does anything good happen in this book at all? Or is it all doom and gloom?

I can't believe I started reading this story 8 years ago...
