The Instant Millionare's ideas of right and wrong are quite bizarre. At one point, he locks his student into a room with a computer that repeatedly displays the words, "you are going to die in an hour," to teach him a lesson in how repeating phrases can affect the mind. This clashes with the student's idea that locking people in a room is wrong, but when he learns why, he quickly accepts that the lesson was moral.

This book is in the self help/instructional genre. It explains how to value companies, then compare that to the market cap to see if a company is undervalued. The book also explains how to know when to exit the company. The book also explains that you should learn about an industry and use that knowledge to value the company. In the book Dhandho Investor, Warren Buffett is said to have two investment rules. There are two rules because two represents the mother that knows better, as his rules prevent him from squandering his capital. Rule No. 1: Never lose money.
Rule No. 2: Never forget rule No. 1.
These rules do in fact recall in my mind the type of rules by which a mother may raise her children.

The plot of this story follows the overcoming the monster archetype. The monster is the elitist international banking plan to enslave the human race. And the protagonist is the reader, who will share the book and make the conspiracy an issue in the 1974 and 1976 elections. The end result is the election of Ronald Reagan, but this is not written in the book.

The genre this book is written in is expositional, centered around exposing the Rothschild and Rockefeller plan to enslave the global population through the guise of communism. The book started with an explanation of who these people are, then goes into their creation of the Federal Reserve, involvement in funding the Bolshevik Revolution, and how they used ww1 and ww2 to their power.

The money to pay for the Bolshevik Revolution is funneled from the world Elite, which represent the Heavens, down through Canada across the deep, uncaring, infinite, wild Atlantic to Russia, a land of ice, representing death. This symbolizes the creation of a hell by angels.

This book is in the genre of historical non fiction, and is written as a big essay to support the "cause-and-effect" theory of histrory, or the thesis that there are a group of insiders, starting from the start of the Illuminati in 1776. For example, it goes through how they created the Federal Reserve in 1913 and funded the Bolshevik Rebellion later that decade. It explains how the Elites in the west ran the USSR.

In this book, the villian archetype is communism, defined as "AN INTERNATIONAL CONSPIRATORIAL DRIVE FOR POWER ON THE PART OF MEN IN HIGH PLACES WILLING TO USE ANY MEANS TO BRING ABOUT THEIR DESIRED AIM-GLOBAL CONQUEST." It is a villain because it wants to "enslave your children," and take over the world secretly. The global elite are apparently trying to take personal freedom and democracy from the world.

This book is written as a fable. I believe that the author chose this format so that not only is the reader learning, he is on a journey with a character, a young man, to learn the secrets of wealth. This format makes the reader feel like they are a part of the journey so that the ideas better stay in the readers mind, allowing him/her to more easily apply these techniques to improve their life.

The audience for this book is everyone that wants to get better at people skills, but particularly adults in business and social situations. The examples in the book are adults living their in these situations, like how Al Capone didn't see himself as a bad person, but rather as someone who wanted give the city of Chicago a good time. This is an adult example, but anyone can understand the message.

I wonder why Bertuccio's brother was arrested in the same manner as Dantes, causing him to attempt revenge on Villefort. A lot of time is spent on Bertuccio's story, but it doesn't significantly effect the plot. The only reason I can think that the Dumas would mention this would be that it further adds to the reader's dislike of Villefort and increases Bertuccio's loyalty to the Count.

Parzival's treasure hunt in Ernest Cline's Ready Player One reminds me of when Dantes finds the endless treasure on Monte Cristo. In both situations, the characters achieve endless wealth, but in Parzival's case, it ends in happiness, whereas the Count ends with revenge. Edmond had a good life ahead of him before he was imprisoned and found the treasure, but Parzival had a terrible life before he found the treasure.

A sympathetic character in The Count of Monte Cristo is Bertuccio, the Count's steward and servant. His actions, such as attempting to kill Villefort, are understandable, because he has his own vengeance to enact. His ability to get the Count anything he desires makes him a very important character and the Count's best servant.

When the Abbe Faria tells Dantes that he has found out how to make paper from his old shirts and of the book he is writing on it, it reveals that the Abbe is driven to work hard in prison, and sees all of the opportunities for the use of all of his resources. It reveals that he can use his knowledge to better his life and also that he takes the time to record his methods, showing that he has a scientific mindset.

The Count of Monte Cristo is like Doctor Strange because Edmond Dantes, like Doctor Strange, had a good life ahead of him, until an unfortunate circumstance changed his life for the worse. Like Doctor Strange, who had spent his last penny reaching Menartaj, Edmond Dantes was close to successfully ending his life when he me the Abbe Faria, similar to the Ancient One, teaches him and gives him power over the world.

There are three antagonists in the Count of Monte Cristo who get Edmond Dantes wrongfully imprisoned. Fernand Mondego betrays Dantes because he is in love with Dante's bethrothed. Danglars betrays Dantes because it makes him captain of the Pharoan. Monsieur de Villefort betrays Dantes because it helps him to politically distance himself from his Bonapartist father.

The main conflict in my book is character vs. society. While it hasn't really been mentioned yet, when Ellie is sober, she learns about what the corporate owned boxes in her office are, and that the society she lives in is deeply flawed. I have not reached the part where she finds the conflict, but there are clues that it will be character verses society, such as boxes being moved, explosions, inquiries and protests.

Cash Cherry is finished with The Skinjacker Trilogy: Everlost / Everwild / Everfound (Skinjacker, #1-3)
The Everlost series belongs to the fictional genre because it's not true, and the fantasy and adventure subgenres. The setting, a fictional inter-life, makes it low fantasy because it is a magical aspect of the real world. It is in the adventure genre because the book is about the quests of four characters, Allie, Nick, Mikey and Mary. Allie's quest was to be alive again, and Nick's to send people to the light.

I'm 26% done with The Count of Monte Cristo: I chose to read this book because an email from an organization based around manipulation recommended it. What intrigued me is the character Edmond Dantes. I wanted to learn about how he manipulated his enemies to get revenge on them after they cause him fourteen undeserved years of my imprisonment in a dungeon.
