I graduate next month with a BA in literary and cultural studies and I'm planning to go to grad school. Let's see if this makes me swoon or pisses me off instead

I never cry and books but I teared up a bit (in a good way) 😭 Being Asian and worried about being a burden/fuck up is real as hell
My own parents tell me they're proud of me and this still got me choking up because it'll take a life time of that to undo our internal view of ourselves and our worries

Holy I'm not triggered by anything but first chapter was just like falling down a hill 😭 Had to actually put it down because it was so much at once and so straightforward. Not bad (yet, at least) and this is a 1001 book so I am def gonna keep going and see how I feel about it
