It's official! Started writing and we're off and running.

Yes, I've started working on the sequel to The Mysterious Case of the Missing Motive! Woot! Will keep you posted on how it goes.

Almost done! Edits done and back to the editor. Only the last chapter left to write.

Nancy tugged at the door. Wyle was moving to help her, when it suddenly flew open with a bang.
“What the …” Wyle said.
He never finished the rest of his sentence because he was interrupted by a loud yowl.

“Elias, how could?” Ginny asked, her face white. “How could you lie about your brother like that?”
“It’s not a lie. It’s the truth.” Elias said as he carefully poured wine into his glass.
“It’s a dreadful lie. Your brother didn’t kill anyone,” Ginny said.

“She was afraid. Terrified even. Something had happened to her that had scared her so badly that she not only changed her life but her family’s life. What happened to scare her so much? That’s what I can’t stop thinking about.”

“I’m … I’m …” she stared wildly at me, then at the knife, before dropping it as if it was a snake. It clattered as it fell to the floor. “What have you done to me?”
“I haven’t done anything to you.”
She kept backing away from me, circling around the room to get closer to the door opposite me. “Yes, you. This house. This is not normal. This is not normal.”

“So what happened?” Mia finally asked when it seemed like Louise wasn’t going to continue.
Louise started, as she had been so lost in thought she had forgotten we were there. She picked up her coffee cup and gave us all a hard look. “You know what happened. All hell broke loose.”

“She’s been missing for six months? And no one has said anything?”
Daniel made a face. “Not exactly. Pamela and her daughter Zelda were living in Riverview and about six months ago, they packed up and moved. Pamela had told friends and neighbors she was moving to Milwaukee. However, as far as we can tell, she never moved to Milwaukee.”
“Where did she go?”
“That’s the problem, no one seems to know.”

I sighed. “Like I said, it’s a long story. Can I take a shower first before I tell it?”
Her eyes went wide. “Oh, of course.”
“Sounds like a plan,” I said, turning to head up to my room on the second floor. “And I haven’t even gotten to the part where I found a body.”
Mia had taken a drink of her wine but she nearly spit it out. “I’m sorry. Did you say body?”

“Of course.” He stood up as well. I turned to walk to the door when he called out to me. “Oh Charlie?”
I looked back at him. His expression was unreadable. “I would watch your back if I was you.”

“I think we need to look at all the angles,” Wyle said. “But, if someone wanted you to leave Redemption, destroying your reputation would be one of the most efficient ways to get you to do that. And, what better way than to slip something into your tea ingredients.”
