É o primeiro livro dela que leio. Ainda estou conhecendo a escrita dela. Mais para frente espero poder fazer um comentário mais elaborado.

As all of Ottolenghi’s books it is beautifully diagramed and has amazing pictures that induce you to cook. This book introduces many new ingredients that come from a variety of places world wide. Right at the beginning Ottolenghi and Ixta introduce the 20 “rare” or “different” ingredients they will use along the book. “Rare” and “different” for those who don’t live in the regions where they are originally from.

Spannend, ideal für Jugendliche. Eine interessante Art um über Gebräuche, Gewohnheiten, Gegenden um Berlin, Hobbys zu sprechen und neuen Wortschatz zu erwerben.

The easy language and straight forward examples help understand the concepts and visualize them. It is as if I were sitting in t lecture & being led into a story. It feels unreal.

P. 47. The American indigenous peoples critique about European civilization was taken seriously. But was seen as a threat, meaning people could get emancipated and become free. This was dangerous so these ideas had to be neutralized.

I love how the text provoques reflections on what we think we know about the past of human kind, based on texts that have been taken for granted, but might be flawed. Texts that have been repeated class after class, year after year without being questioned. On one hand it feels instigating whereas on the other, a red flag rises, warning about what might be questionable revisionism. That’s y it will tk me time 2 read
