hmmm every time i learn some history about the Vatican i go well that sounds a little evil, INCLUDING WHEN I WENT TO THE VATICAN, lord please educate me on anything good that they’ve done

I FIND IT VERY HARD TO ENJOY A STORY THAT IS A MYSTERY BUT THE MYSTERY IS MUSHROOMS AND WE HAVE KNOW THAT SINCE PAGE ONE

also this is would be the second gothic evil mushroom book i’ve read this year and i think that’s too many

i respect tk fisher unique characters but this is like really boring so far

btw the audio book is amazing

i really like what i’m reading, big fun, big adventure. but plot points do not flow very well into each other, nor does context. we are left floundering in this world with little to go off of. i have no idea how things work or why or how or what or when or where. but silly little adventures are funny and getting into a sticky situation.

a lot better then rebel in the sands- thought this would be on the same par. Am enjoying this one and I think will continue it.

I HATE YOUNG PEOPLE AND LOVE

i had to double check that this was the first book only to realize this is a collection of the entire series. they really just throw u in there with this but it’s compelling at least

there’s just like a lot of lore and action happening but the lore is pretty deeply rooted in langue and culture but that langue and culture isn’t always explained to us.

different time periods: past very whimsy, elegant, charming

modern day: campy af

a very harsh back and forth but i love that the time periods feel so drastically different

listening to the audio book is alarming similar to the movie, like you don’t even need to watch the movie after reading this
