The chapter on talking to children about conversion is particularly useful

Part 1 summarizes what evangelism is, where the bible talks about it, how Christians have done it through history, and personal practices to make one ready for it.

Stories and illustrations repeat across chapters, noticeably repetitive. Also, for a book published in 2021, I don't understand why it constantly refers to statistics from the 1990s and earlier. Was this out of date the moment it was published?

Many illustrations reference evangelists from the mid- to late-1900s. I wonder how many people reading this book know the references.

The practical applications in the chapters that have them are helpful, generic takeaways of the various doctrines of God.

This book thrives at teaching the reader how to do theology. Explanations are so verbose that you can see how the conclusions are reached; however, by that same standard, it fails at being a useful reference. The explanations are so verbose that I cannot quickly find a statement of truth within its pages.

Honestly, there's too much content. Each topic takes multiple chapters. Each chapter provides a lot more information than I need. I doubt I would refer back to this in the future because of the long winded explanation of each theological doctrine.

Well-written, believable fiction about a clan of people in Nigeria. Author did a great job making the characters feel relatable and real.

Lots of motivation for theology, little substance of theology.

Also, the KJV quotes are distracting. why is Crossway using KJV instead of ESV for Bible quotes?

So far it feels like the authors just quote a lot of people for the sake of making the book longer. First 3 chapters could have been half as long without losing any of the core content.

Thus far, this book feels like it argues for the same approach as in Tactics by Greg Koukl. Newman writes about the motivation for such an approach but Koukl goes into more depth and instruction for how to use it.

Interesting world, poor story. This book tries to be with music what Ready Player One is for the 1980s but fails. The constant music references are an annoyance. Main character is entirely unbelievable: gang leader’s son, emotionally unstable, historian, near-famous musician, with genius-level perfect recall. How does that make sense?
More negatives: this book repeatedly celebrates self-harm as a coping mechanism.

This book is distinctly western, and particularly applied to Americans. Helpful, but useful to know the context to which it speaks.

I fell like, more often than not, the suggested moral stance is a set of principles to help the reader make his or her own stance rather than actually giving a suggested moral stance.

Good job answering the why to do things. Quite a bit too wordy though. Several chapters are 45+ pages, with only the last 10 or so pages telling you how to do what he describes.
