Well I can see the haters points. It's pretty brutal. Dedcadently entertaining. Loving in anyway. This belongs on the guilty pleasures shelf so far. ❤️

This book has a subtle healing effect. It's not mind-blowing or obvious. It may not become the next self-help classic, but it is helping restore my joy and perspective. I can't wait to see what more this author is going to put out, and I am only a third of the way through. It could use a few more real-world examples. I am enjoying the use of language, and it paints some beautiful imagery.

This is the best self help and philosophy book I have ever read, and I am just starting chapter 3. I love it.

So far so good! This does seem to be challenging my Book of Law. I am enjoying it. I'm hoping it will crack open my sense of reality and turn it around.

I do not understand how King is turning some menstrual pads and bleeding into art, but it's happening. I'm only 50 pages in, and I can tell that I have to pay attention or I'm going to miss something. I'm completely absorbed, and I am terrified I am going to miss something. The only other book I read of his was The Shining, and it was really good, but this is already seeping into my soul and changing my brain waves.

The writing in this is starting to take off. It's getting better. This is such an important story. The writing has been clichéd and unimpressive so far. I just stumbled on a jem of a quote, "Some people reinforce human spirit while others simply rob it." This is a great quote. Very true, very poignant.

I have had this book on my shelf for a couple years. I avoided it because of the dark subject. This book makes me want to hug my kids and clean the house. It makes me relieved that I haven't brought any men around my kid sin the 7 years I have been single. Not that men are bad, but damn how can people be like this? These kids are so eager to please adults for a small scrap of attention. Just a kind gesture.

This book does get better. It feels like reading from 2 completely different authors. A lot of the book really has not worked for me. It is such an iconic classic that I'm going to stick it out. He has not mentioned his erection in a while and the thas improved the book.

All right. It is getting better. It did improve when he stopped talking about erections. That was a bit back in the story. It picks up when the story line flashes back to Sophie's time in Poland. The words he chooses are still not cutting it for me.

Feeling like going on a feminist tyrant
..which is not my personality. That is how disturbingly brilliant the observations are in this book. I do get the reason people have said the prose was pretentious. The words he uses are unique but a bit awkward and often pretentious. The observations are really odd. I should have taken notes. It is thought provocking to say the least.
