I grew up a latter-day saint and felt I knew the struggles of the pioneers of the church. But studying this history in this format has greatly expanded my knowledge of the intense trials both physical and spiritual of the saints of that time. The dedication and conviction of these early saints has encouraged me to live in gratitude for all they endured that I may have the blessings I have today.

It can feel a bit preachy at times but the author does a good job of mitigating that feel with the poetry of her writing. I'm having a hard time finishing, not because it isn't interesting it just doesn't have a story arc that reels me immediately back in. So far there have been many points of interest that have been discussed and I'm looking forward to researching and diving into them more.

So far I am thinking "why would anyone want to engage with the publishing world at all?"

I am thoroughly enjoying this third installment. Just when I think I have got it figured out, another twist!
