Kind of choppy writing, with weird choices of words. "Carp out" for saying something sharply (ish?), "lapse my mouth" for going in for a kiss, "recites" for just saying something that most definitely isn't a recitation.
"Easton turns his concentration to..." uh no, you turn your focus or attention. All the weird word choices take away from from story.

Unsurprisingly, this isn't getting any better. Extremely clunky writing, with the author desperately trying to show how aware she is about social issues like homelessness and vulnerable women. It's... exhausting. Everyone is a 2D cardboard character.

Less than a tenth into the book, and can already tell this'll be a forgettable read. I feel like I've used this descriptor before, but it is like the Lee Child of romances - short, clunky sentences with little depth.

It's taking me a while to get through this even though I'm enjoying it, because there's just so much drama and angst I'm getting stressed out. 😅

I'm really bored right now. Usually I read a book in a day and a half or less, but I've been going for days with this one not getting anywhere. Yes, she's plus sized, I get it. Does it have to be mentioned every page (slight exaggeration). It's just as annoying as when a book mentions someone's eye colour fifty billion times.

Idk. I remember enjoying the first part, but this one just feels disjointed and dull? And the writing is stilted and doesn't flow. Will most likely DNF

As a parent, the FMC going on the defensive when her mum complained about babysitting for five hours when the FMC had only asked for two??? Yeah, *major* side eye. Even if she is a shitty mum to you, she's still agreed to babysit FOR FREE at short notice, and you *do not* then stay away for more than twice the amount of time?? Especially not without contacting the mum?!

It's almost too sweet? Everyone is so considerate and talking things through etc etc. I'll have to take this one in little chunks

Second read to refresh my memory before continuing the series. Quite enjoyable. Sweet.

Epitome of light, fluffy read thus far. Quite fun.

Slow but steady progress. Really enjoying it thus far!
