SASKIA MAARLEVELD? AGAIN?!

MUCH better quality than The Elders' Quest! Loving the old lady club (yes, I count Crowfeather as an old lady), and Starlingpaw is surprisingly hilarious. I didn't think I'd like Leafstar's POV being replaced, but his chapters are so funny. I love him.
I'm ready for the story to GET GOING.

Blindsided by Mulan-retelling and vampires. Wasn't expecting that...

Enjoying the worldbuilding--mainly the stuff about the gods and magic--but not so much enjoying the contrived conversations between the characters. How is it that they're on the run, but have time to sit in the woods and play 20-Questions? Also, what's up with all these lady protagonists who are just born feminists in these patriarchal societies?

Wish the plot was more related to Effy in this one. Hoping they don't keep up the "I don't want to bother them" trope for much longer... I want the characters to work together like they did at the end of the first book!

This book is mega messed up... It's giving lots of emotional whiplash with all the silly goofy stuff, then suddenly throwing in super serious complex topics. @_@

How not to start a book: with 50 pages of exposition, info-dumping, worldbuilding, and backstory. I wish someone would have informed the author of this.

I am so confused about Kier's sexuality. He said he was some sort of demi/ace, but then is also claiming to sleep around quite a lot...

Not really digging the writing style or the Illumicrate cover art either.

Poor Stripestar. He's such a dum-dum, but I feel bad for him.

Why is this book YA? I may never understand why some books get classed as YA and others don't... Anyway, still pretty good so far.

Interesting concepts, even if the plot is pretty generic so far.

Okay, this book has been annoying me, but the final straw is the author not knowing the difference between a soda and a phosphate!!! Is basic research really THAT difficult?! Don't put milk in a phosphate, ya nasties!
