Just getting to the chapter titled “burner gender” (similar in concept to a burner phone) which is a fascinating lens that I’m excited to see fleshed out

Super interesting so far, though unfortunately the print edition is in a weird old typeface, Walbaum, which the publisher thinks has a “human” and “romantic” quality but I just find hard on the eyes. I wouldn’t care so much but I specifically bought this one in paper form (vs library and/or ebook) cuz I want to savor & write in it.

This book is great! The prose is easy but the content is chewy, and the protagonist is neurodivergent and queer.

I have been pretty much ignoring the astrology bits in this book--the protagonist is into astrology in a very detailed way and I read them but don't try to process or make any sense of them. I hope the details of it aren't relevant to the plot.

This book is SO good. I was hesitant about reading something that had been translated, but the writing/language is great.

I finally just wiped the slate clean & removed/recategorized the 25 things on my "currently reading" list as "to come back to."

Maybe I will come back to them, maybe I won't, but it feels good to start fresh!

I'm only Did Not Finishing this because when I was reading it, long ago, I had to return it before I was done, and the topic isn't as interesting to me as it was many years ago - but it is a good book.

Started reading this after hearing a beautiful passage (about the shipping industry!) on the radio (on Planet Money, of all places!) Really enjoying it, it's easy and pleasant and interesting to move through.
