Watching recaps of Lightlark so I can understand wtf is going on in this book and why did I think this main character lady was whiter than a winter snow storm in December???? And they’re depicting her with some melanin like this is blowing me

I’m trying to soak up all the oro moments before the author inevitably make her bias towards grim and shadow daddies incredibly clear.

Which is why I’m not buying Isla’s whole “I despise him 😡” like sure Jan sure 🙄

I just realized why this book has no plot— there’s like zero stakes. We don’t know what they are trying to defeat or conquer or challenge or struggle with. There’s just Isla training, remembering Grim, or wanting Oro. This is a nothing burger

This is book is not at all convincing me of the romance btw Isla and Grim they both seem annoying

Restarted this book because I was curious about how the love triangle came to be but man is this book boring holy shit. Gonna listen to the audio so it goes by faster

I feel like this book (series) will continually forget what it’s characters have done before and have the ability to do and then act like we’re all supposed to be surprised that they can do stuff we’ve already seen them do. Smh

After reading the Poppy War I care about this book so much less…getting back into this has been a struggle

Wow this book was a wild ride. I hated the beginning of this book and found Rin insufferable but by the middle I was entertained enough to keep reading all the way until the end. Excited for the next but also Rin is so exhausting
