There’s some really deep, hard-to-grasp philosophy in here. It’s not the kind of book I can skim—or if I were to skim, I would gain little.

“Artists already live in the abundance of God. […] they see a vista beyond the world of gray utility; they desire to paint in color […] God does not just mend, repair, and restore; God renews and generates […]” P.31

“Many have argued that the reason we have an innate drive toward beauty is to attract and be attracted to mates. I now consider what I do in the studio to be theological work as much as aesthetic work. I experience God, my Maker, in the studio.
