Dan ga ik er toch maar aan geloven... Ik ben benieuwd waarom dit het meest geleende boek bij de online Bibliotheek is. Het ziet er niet echt uit als 'mijn ding', dus zie ik het meer als veldonderzoek :')

I don't know if I can deal with the writing style of a Hitkrant interview spread out over 300+ pages...

Halfway there - it's a lot to get through. So far only a few things I didn't know, both cheerful and sad. It is not glossing over her faults, which I appreciate but I find I am not at all interested in Agatha Christie's money/fortune.
Taking a little break - perhaps give that Cruel Prince (Holly Black) a try that is also on my Kobo...

What? If you like the first, you roll into the second. That's how it works.

Eserine was quite technical and an apparent unique choice for Agatha Christie (or other crime novelists). Though the book is only 289 pages long in actual text, it is not the easiest of reads, due to the technical aspect. After reading 'eserine', I need a little break, though... next up is 'hemlock' and how it's used in one of my favourite Christies.

Belladonna and cyanide. It's still lighthearted and amusingly written, but the information about cyanide does include Zyklon B and it's taken very seriously, which I very much appreciate.

Somewhat more scientific and technical than I expected (I have very limited knowledge of chemistry, but the lighthearted tone, the examples and connection with/to Agatha Christie is a delight. A is for arsenic was the first full chapter. Onto B is for belladonna!

I don't know how they felt I'd love this because I loved 'Our spoons came from Woolworths' - it's quite dreary, descriptive and can't hold a candle to the style of OSCFW. Not sure if I'll read the whole thing...

Just picked it up from the library and it's the 1926 first edition, it's smelly and it's foxed something awful. Keeping it on my desk to read during my breaks

Jeetje. Woorden.

‘Even’ is een prima woord.
En ik ben compleet verklempt. Wat een boek... gauw verder!
